Just another WordPress.com weblog

Hi Guys,

I think that I have stayed away a little too long, but I have been so busy with school and trying to stay on top of everything at work also. I have really enjoyed reading your comments on my last post and I have been enjoying reading all of your blogs as well and I have been commenting when I can.

Well, this post I have decided to devote to my DAD! My dad is originally from London, England and yes he has an English accent. But the most important things about him tomorrow is that it will be his Birthday. My dad deserves to have a post written about him because he has not only been my dad, but he has been my biggest cheerleader, coach, and repair man. My dad has always been there and I have had him wrapped around my little finger since the day I was born.

Unfortunately, that father daughter relationship was challenged during the years when I was in and out of eating disorder treatment, but he always stayed by my side and supported me both financially and emotionally. If it were not for my AMAZING dad, there is no way that I could have gone to treatment. My dad made is possible for me to get better and he was at the treatment facility with me every chance he had.

So now, let me introduce you to my amazing father….

My dad in my opinion is amazing and I am so glad that I have the ability to call him my dad and also the chance to wish him a happy birthday.

Questions for you:

1. Do you have a close relationship with your dad?

2. Please tell me how your dad has changed your life for the better? If you are not close with your dad please tell me about your mom.

3. Please give me ideas of what to blog about that is NOT food related! (I am open to ANYTHING!) :)

Hi Blog friends,

I have been following all of your blogs and commenting when I can. I wish that I could say that something amazing happened while I was gone, but it hasnt. It wasnt until this past weekend did I know that I would try to blog again. Rach from This Italian Family asked me this past weekend if I was thinking of blogging again and I decided that I would.

I RAN Around Normal August 30, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — Lindsay @ 7:06 pm

Hi Friends,

Today, I was blessed with the chance to run with another local blogger. Who did I run with today you ask? Well, I was blessed with the chance to run with Paige from Running Around Normal. She is an amazing athlete and trainer and I was so excited to meet her.

When we first planned on going for a run, we thought we were going to be able to run on a trail in our town. Unfortunately, we were not graced with the sun today. So, what do people do when they do no have sun, they head inside. Luckily, Paige works at a gym in town and I was able to join her at her gym and we ran side by side on treadmills. From the moment we got on the treadmills we had an endless amount of things to talk about. During our run today, I was able to RUN 3 miles on the treadmill. I was so proud. I havent run that far in over a year. I really hope that I will be able to keep up with running and see how far I can go.

Once again, thank you so much for meeting me today Paige and I cannot wait to hit the pavement of Normal with you again!!

Workout Protocal August 16, 2010

Hi Blog Friends,

I know I have once again dissapeared off the side of the earth for a while, but I just started back at school today which means that I will now be going 7 days a week. I do not have weekends and I go to school everyday during the week. I know that might sound crazy, but I need the money and I have to go to school. While my life is really crazy right now, I am finding the time to workout and I love it.

Tonight, when I went to the gym I chose to take a Zumba class. I love zumba and I love all of the instructors at the gym that I workout at. But a few minutes after class began, a woman came in and she had a VERY bad smell to her. After a period of time, some of the other woman standing around me starting making comments to each other about it. This smell was for sure bothersome. It actually led to the instructor stopping class 5 minutes early because most of us could not stand the smell and I think she could tell. All of us at the gym decided not to confront the other woman because we were not sure how it would affect her. I am now starting to second guess myself. I think that I should have let her know that the smell was affecting others. What would you have done?? I am worried about what will happen next time and I would like to know what you guys think I should do when I see her at the gym next time??

Thanks for all of your guys’ help and I am going to try to make some more interesting posts in the near future. :)

p.s. please check out Faith, Fitness, Fun she is planning a 30 days of Reflection and I am sure that she would love it if you would all check it out and take some time to reflect.

30 Days of Reflection for Self-Love August 11, 2010

Hi Blog Friends,

I know I have been gone again for some time, but I have been VERY busy living my life. I feel like I have no free time right now and I am not even taking classes until school starts next week. While I am very busy trying to stay on top of everything, I also know that I need to stay focused on my recovery all the time. While reading blogs this week, I noticed that there is a very positive attitude coming from all bloggers and I am LOVING it and when I saw that Tina from Faith, Fitness, Fun was going to be having 30 days of reflection to focus your day. I know that personally I am much like Tina and take time everyday to reflect on my recovery. I hope that all of my readers will get involved in this movement and check out Tina’s blog at the same time.

July What a Month is Was… July 31, 2010

Hi Bliends (Blogging Friends),

I am back as I said that I would be and this time I am actually back with pictures. I am not sure how many words I am going to add, but I do plan on showing you pictures from the wedding I attended at the beginning of July, my birthday party pictures in the middle of july and I want to let you guys know more about my new job, which I am absolutely in love with. But first of all, lets talk about the wedding.

The wedding was on a beautiful saturday afternoon. The invitations had stated that it would be a formal affair and that men needed to wear ties and women needed to wear nice dresses. I loved that I would have a chance to wear a nice dress. I mean the previous summer I would have been fearful of wearing anything that showed my body as I was so terribly thin. The wedding of course was gourgeous, but for there privacy I will only be showing pictures of myself and my family!!

This is me and my beautiful mother. We totally planned to wear coordinating outfits. I loved standing next to her because she made me feel so much more confident.

For my birthday, we had planned a family cook-out. I was so excited because my mom told me that she would be cooking all of my favorites. I of course indulged in everything that day, I mean it was my birthday after all. The party was also a big celebration of my new start. It was the first time in five years that I was able to celebrate my birthday at home. Everyone was so proud of me and my mom even had a cake designed to represent my new start.

Stage for My NEW LIFE

This cake was absolutely delicious and you better believe that I ate a peice big enough to serve two people, but remember that I was making up for having NO cake on my birthday for 5 years. I was so glad to be having an amazing Janet’s Cake, an amazing cake shop in my town. Now I know at the moment the cake was very important, but the people that came and celebrated with me made the day even more special.

Me and My "GYM" Buddies at My Birthday Party

These two girls are probably my best friends. They are always there if I need to talk or if I need to vent about life and to tell you all the truth, I met them at the gym during a Zumba class. We go to the gym together as often as we can and I cant thank them enough for making it to my party.

The rest of the party was amazing and I recieved many amazing gifts from my family and friends. I also know that I will be getting a few pedicures in the very near future.

Finally, I started my new job on Monday July 12th, 2010. The first four weeks of being on the job required that I attend “classes” everyday from 4-9pm monday – friday. At first I was worried that this would drive me to exhaustion, but I have found that I LOVE my job. I am basically the extension of our agents office. I can help people who are calling in to report an accident or who are trying to extend purchase to their new vehicle when they cannot speak to their agent. I know that might not sound like fun, but the time passes very quickly and I know I have my foot in the door at an amazing company where I can see myself many years down the road.

Now, I think that was probably not the longest post I have ever written but I did want to get this out there for anyone who actually reads this little blog. I hope you all are enjoying your summers.

Questions for my Readers:

– What was your best birthday ever and why?

– What do you do for a living?? Do you plan on staying in that position for a while??

– What was the best thing you did this summer??
